EMPORIA
Case study
Emporia is one of the world’s leading manufacturers for senior mobile phones – a large but underserved segment of the rapidly growing telecommunications sector.
The company assigned Hubble Innovations with a clear mission: to complement Emporia’s outstanding hardware with a holistic, consumer centric solution that entails a retail strategy, phone plans and a marketing approach to deliver maximum consumer relevance.
Hubble Innovations applied its observation process and identified an unexpected turn in the buying process: younger adults play a vital role in helping their parents to make their purchasing choice in the sector.
To utilize this insight, Hubble Innovations assembled a select network of specialists spanning different fields, and connected Emporia with T-Mobile Europe, one of the world’s largest telecommunication providers.
Together, the companies developed special service plans that fulfilled the target customers needs more effectively than previous plans, and leveraged T-Mobile’s vast retail and distribution networks to reach out to both seniors and their children to communicate the new offer.
Within the first two months, T-Mobile sold an unexpected 12,000 phones, and exceeded $5 million in revenues – a significant number in the target segment.
As a result, Hubble Innovations’ US team got the assignment to transfer the success model into the US market, with an expected launch in 2011.
